WHAT IS OPC?

OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidins) is a specific molecular complex that is found in many plants and was discovered by Dr. Jack Masquelier in the 1940s. As a professor at the University of Bordeaux in France, Dr. Masquelier studied OPC throughout his lifetime eventually proving it was a powerful antioxidant, collagen rebuilder and cellular protector. His first OPC extract was made with peanut skins, then hawthorn berries and eventually commercial extraction was from grape seeds (vitis vinifera) and pine bark (pinus maritima). OPC has been used in France since the 1950s in prescription medications for circulation, cardiovascular, eye problems and varicose veins. OPC is registered as a dietary supplement in the U.S. where many people have found daily use of OPC to improve their health in many ways including improved skin health, allergy symptoms, brain function and memory, etc.
